We all feel tired from time to time. It’s the result of living in such a hectic, fast-pace world. But when your fatigue is intense and chronic, it’s time to look into it. It could be Adrenal Fatigue, an extreme form of fatigue linked to inconsistent levels of the stress hormone, cortisol. It’s a tiredness that is constant and limits daily activities. It is unexplained, persistent, relapsing exhaustion.
WHAT CAUSES FATIGUE?
Adrenal Fatigue is caused when sustained stress becomes too much for the body to handle. The usual way our bodies deal with stress is to rely on the hormone, cortisol, which is produced by the small adrenal glands, located above the kidneys. Long-term stress can inhibit the adrenal glands’ ability to keep up with cortisol production. It can also create wild fluctuations in the amount of cortisol being produced, which can give you extreme swings in energy levels.
